The Aurora University men's hockey team returned to the ice for the first time in 2025 at Lake Forest College in a non-conference match-up. AU defeated LFC for the third time in the season with a resounding 5-1 victory on Tuesday afternoon.

- The Spartans came out of the gates firing, putting 17 shots on goal with
Chase Broda breaking through at 11:59 of the first period.
- The Broda goal was assisted by
Mathis Bedard and
Jake Code.
- Leading 1-0 early in the second period the Spartans fought off a 5 on 3 and while still down a man would score a short-handed tally.
- The game-winning goal from
Landry Schmuck while short-handed put AU ahead 2-0 5:14 into the second.
Hassan Akl assisted on the play.
- 1:40 later the Spartans increased their lead to three with a goal from
Jakson Kirk. He was assisted by
Lukas Sedlacek and
Chayce Schmidt.
- Midway through the second the Spartans went back to the penalty kill but this time LFC scored to cut the AU lead to two at 3-1.
- The game would remain 3-1 with Spartan net-minder
Braedyn McIntosh having 21 saves through two periods.
- Midway through the third period the Spartans headed to the power play and with the extra skater put the puck in the back of the net.

Eddie Paulissian scored the power play tally with assists from
Simon Diaz and
Landry Schmuck.
- AU went to the power play again late in the third and 11 seconds after the extra attacker time expired,
Andrew Schultz scored at even strength.
- The fifth Spartan goal of the day was assisted by
John Hallard and
Matt Weber.
- McIntosh and the AU defense held on to the four goal lead in the final minutes for the Spartans 12th win of the season.
