Spartans roll to win over Stars

The Aurora University men's basketball team tipped off the 2025 home schedule hosting the Dominican University Stars n a NACC match up on Wednesday night, the Spartans secured a 98-64 victory. Six Spartans scored in double-figures with a double-double from Dwayne Jervier Jr.

How it happened
- The Spartans led for all but 27 seconds of the contest with a three from Joevonn McCottry getting the scoring started with a three.
- After being down 8-7, the Spartans responded with an 11-0 run capped off from a three from Maxwell Marius.
- With 7:33 left in the first-half, Isaiah Davis converted a lay-up to put the Spartans up 36-18.
- The Spartans headed to halftime leading by 23 at 55-32. 
- Davis led all scorers with 15 and McCottry had 14 at the half.
- Early in the second-half, Dwayne Jervier Jr drained a three to put the Spartans up 24.
- AU's lead hovered around 20 for a while longer until a 22-4 run  blew the game wide open.
- Three, three-point field goals and an alley-oop to Jeffery Hillmer from McCottry brought the house down.
- AU would coast to the win, winning 98-64.
- 12 of the 14 Spartans that saw action in the contest scored a basket.
