Spartans Fall at Hamline in Road Matchup

The Aurora University women's hockey team fell 5-0 on the road Saturday afternoon at Hamline in a non-conference match-up in Saint Paul. The Spartans worked to establish pace and generate offensive looks, but an early deficit and special-teams opportunities against made the difference.

How it happened 
- Hamline opened the scoring just over a minute into the game, taking a 1–0 lead after capitalizing on a turnover in the defensive zone.
- AU responded with steady pressure and generated quality looks throughout the first period, finishing the frame with six shots on goal, but the Spartans were unable to find the equalizer.
- The second period proved pivotal, as Hamline converted on back-to-back power plays early in the frame and added a late tally to extend the advantage.
- Aurora earned three power-play chances of its own, including two in the second period, but could not convert despite working pucks into dangerous areas.
- Hamline added one more goal in the third period to seal the result.
- Spartan goaltender Macy Blooming stood strong throughout the afternoon, recording 43 saves while facing sustained offensive pressure.
