TJ Ramsey and
JP Chaney were named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals.
Offense --- TJ Ramsey, running back
Ramsey earned the honor after he led Aurora to a 59-26 win at Concordia Chicago with five rushing touchdowns in the game. Ramsey finished the day with 28 carries for 159 yards and five scores while completing one pass for 37 yards. He averaged 5.7 yards per rush and reached the 1,000-yard plateau for the season..
On the season, Ramsey leads the AU ground attack with 153 carries for 1,022 yards and 20 touchdowns. He is averaging 102.2 yards per game and 6.7 yards per carry. The 20 rushing touchdowns is a single season record for a Spartan.
Defense --- JP Chaney, defensive line
Chaney earned the honor after he helped lead Aurora to a 59-26 win at Concordia Chicago. Chaney had four sacks on the day with a forced fumble and fumble recovery. He had nine total tackles with 7.5 coming as tackles for loss. The 7.5 tackles for loss is a NACC record. His four sacks is tied for second most in a game for a Spartan and his season total of 13.0 is third-most in a single season.
On the season, Chaney leads the Spartans with 65 tackles, 25 being tackles for loss and 13.0 quarterback sacks. He has 13 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and a dumble recovery.
Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, November 22 when they travel to the 2025 SmileyCookie.com Lakefront Bowl. Kick-off is slated for 11:00 a.m. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Raabe Stadium at Wisconsin Lutheran College. AU will take on Illinois College.
