The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced the 2025 Men's Soccer postseason awards and All-Conference Teams on Thursday. AU was led by
Branden Dolezal as the NACc Forward Player of the Year, the third consecutive season a Spartan has won the top offensive award. Dolezal is joined by eight additional teammates to earn All-NACC honors.
Dolezal earned the top NACC offensive award after he has started all 19 games for AU, totaling 43 points on 18 goals and seven assists heading into Saturday's NACC Tournament final against MSOE. He has recorded at least one goal in 12 of 19 games this season and notched the game-winner on four occasions. Dolezal also has four multiple-goal games, registering braces against Concordia Chicago and Marian and hat tricks against Wisconsin Lutheran and Benedictine. The hat trick against Benedictine came in the quarterfinal round of the NACC Tournament.
Dolezal currently ranks in the top-10 nationally in points per game (eighth, 2.26) and goals per game (ninth, 0.95), leading the NACC in both categories as well as total goals and total points. He also sits third in game-winning goals and fourth in assists and ranks second in both shots per game (3.89) and shots on goal per game (2.16).
Joining Dolezal in earning NACC First-Team All-Conference recognition was defender
Julian Orozco, midfielder
Omar Saldana and forward
Josue Roman. Orozco led the AU defense that allowed 1.11 goals per game with the Spartans collecting eight shutouts and allowing one or fewer goals in 14 of their 19 games.
Roman is second on the team with 16 goals and has a team-leading 10 assists from his forward position. He had one game-winning goal. Saldana has two goals and four assists from his versatile midfield position.
Second-Team NACC honors went to midfielders
Carlos Viayra and
Luca Avendano and defender
Walter Delapaz. Viayra has a team-leading 10 assists and four goals while Avendano has six goals and two assists. Delapaz has got in on the scoring from his defensive position with five goals with three being game-winning goals.
Rounding out the AU all-conference honorees is honorable mention selection goalie
Alex Ageladelis and defender
Max Crawford. Crawford has two goals and four assists while helping Ageladelis who holds an 11-3-3 record with four solo shutouts and three combined. He holds a 1.30 goals against average and a .714 saves percentage.
Next scheduled action for the Spartan men's soccer team (13-3-3 overall) comes on Friday, November 7 when they host the championship game of the 2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. AU takes on Milwaukee School of Engineering with opening kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Montgomery, Illinois at Spatan Athletic Park.
