Spartans Battle in Championship Match, Fall 1–0 to MSOE

With a packed and energized home crowd behind them, Aurora University men's soccer fought through all 90 minutes of an intense championship-stage conference tournament match but fell 1–0 on Friday night at Spartan Athletic Park.

How it happened
- AU set the tone early, creating dangerous scoring opportunities throughout the first half.
- Branden Dolezal tested the goalkeeper twice in the opening stretch, and Josue Roman fired a strong strike shortly after that also required a save.
- The Spartans dictated possession for long stretches and kept the match scoreless heading into halftime.
- The deciding moment came in the 59th minute. After a blocked shot in the box, a quick redirection slipped through for the lone goal of the night.
- AU refused to back down. Walter Delapaz launched multiple chances from distance, and Mizael Terrazas nearly delivered the equalizer in the 66th minute, forcing a difficult save.
- Roman added another dangerous attempt late in the match as AU continued to press forward with urgency.
- Goalkeeper Alex Ageladelis held strong in net, recording three saves and helping organize a disciplined defensive unit.
- The Spartans finished with 11 total shots, four on target and continued to attack through the final whistle.
