Spartans Secure Sweep over Dubuque

Aurora University came out strong in the second game of their series against Dubuque, capitalizing on an early power-play opportunity. The first period saw both teams exchange penalties and goals, with Hassan Akl putting the Spartans on the board first. AU took control in the third period, scoring four goals to secure a dominant 7-2 victory.

How it happened
 - AU jumped on an early opportunity as the game opened with a Dubuque penalty. The first period was action-packed, with both teams combining for six penalties.
- Hassan Akl put the Spartans on the board first, netting a power-play goal with assists from Chayce Schmidt and Chase Broda.
- Dubuque netted the equalizer early in the second period.
- Jakson Kirk put the Spartans back on top with a goal, assisted by Simon Diaz and Chayce Schmidt.
- Mathis Bedard extended the lead on the power play, with assists from Jakson Kirk and Juliano Santalucia.
- The Spartans dominated the third period, netting four of the five goals.
- Just four minutes into the period, Hassan Akl struck for his second goal of the night, assisted by Juliano Santalucia and Keaton Lipsett.
- Less than a minute later, Jake Code added his first goal of the game, with Simon Diaz and Hassan Akl picking up the assists, extending AU's lead to 5-1.
- Back-to-back power-play goals pushed the Spartans advantage to 7-1, as Chayce Schmidt and Lukas Sedlacek found the back of the net. Eddie Paulissian, Hassan Akl, and Andrew Schultz contributed assists.
- Dubuque added a late goal, but the Spartans closed out a dominant 7-2 victory.
