AU defeat of Lakeland sets new single season wins mark

The Aurora University men's volleyball team set a new single season wins mark with a 3-0 home sweep of the Lakeland University Muskies on Thursday night in Thornton Gymnasium. 10 Spartans collected kills with 17 seeing the court in the victory.

- The 18th win sets a new single season mark in the men's volleyball program.

How it happened
- The Spartans jumped out quickly in the match, going ahead 4-0 behind three kills from Josh McLellan.
- AU wouldn't falter in the opening set, winning 25-18.
- McLellan finished with six kills and Logan Brouwer had 11 assists.
- The second set started almost identical to the first with Mateo Scharosch at the service line and AU built a 4-1 lead.
- The AU lead ballooned to 10 on multiple occasions before the 25-18 final score.
- SJ Nelson came off the bench with three big kills in the frame.
- AU turned to some of the bench crew in the third set and maintained the lead for most of the set, winning 25-22.
- Ethan Kane had a pair of kills and Martin McKee hammered home the final point for the AU win.
