The Aurora University men's lacrosse team continued their strong play on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Athletic Park when they squared off against Cornell College, knocking off the Rams by a score of 19-4.
Travis Weischadle and
Griffin Joas each finished with two goals and two assists, while
Luke DuPont also had three goals to help lead the Spartans to their third-straight victory.

- AU scored four goals within the first eight minutes of the game, as
Chris Bucci and
Ben Strub got the Spartan scoring barrage started each with a score.
- At 8:05 in the first,
Rielan Pura found
Griffin Joas for a score, before
Carson Leader found the back of the net to give the Spartans an early 4-0 lead.
- Pura picked up a second assist when he found
Travis Weischadle with just under six minutes left in the first to give AU a 5-0 lead.
- Back-to-back goals early in the second from
Owen Spencer and Bucci gave AU a 7-0 lead.
- That lead stretched to 8-0 when Weischadle found
Charlie Kirkland with just over nine minutes to go in the second for the Spartan score.

Owen Meyer and Joas helped give AU a 10-0 lead going into the halftime break.
- Cornell scored their first goal at 9:06 in the third to trim the Spartan lead to 10-1.

Luke DuPont got in on the scoring fun late in the third for AU, before Meyer continued his strong day with a goal making it 12-1 in favor of the Spartans going into the final quarter of play.
- The Rams answered another Weischadle goal for AU early in the fourth with two-straight goals, making it 13-3.

Luke Smith found DuPont at 7:50 in the fourth while the Spartans were a man-up to give AU a 14-3 lead.
- That lead stretched to 16-3 after
Connor Stockton and
Dylan Kranzush goals for the Spartans.
- Two more goals from DuPont and Stockton, and one from
Henry Leff, helped give AU a 19-4 win over the Rams.
- Despite a late goal from Cornell, the trio of
Asher Deputy,
Zach Fuzy and
Carter Wasson teamed up to combine with 11 saves and four goals allowed.
