The Aurora University baseball team continued their 2025 spring trip at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational against John Carroll University on Wednesday morning. The Spartans led late but would fall 7-6 as John Carroll scored in the bottom of the ninth to the win.

- An early error followed by a double in the first had the Spartans behind 2-0.

Brody Mac would put AU ahead in the top of the second when he hit a bases clearing double.
- After JCU tied the game in the bottom of the second, AU grabbed the lead back in the third.
- A leadoff walk for Riley Logan saw him score on a
Ryan Buck double for a 4-3 AU lead.
- The wildness continued as JCU scored twice in the bottom of the inning to lead the Spartans 5-4 after three.
- The game remained 5-4 JCU until the seventh when Logan hit a solo home run to tie the score up 5-5.
- In the eighth,
Dominick Curcio singled with one out and later scored on a sac fly from
Will Sevier.
- AU led 6-5 with six outs to play.
- A two-out infield single in the bottom of the inning allowed the tying run to cross as the game was tied once again 6-6.
- A one out error which was sandwiched around a pair of strikeouts allowed the bottom of the ninth to continue to JCU and the running eventually scored after a pair of singles.
- AU fell in heartbreaking fashion 7-6.
