The Aurora University softball team hosted Concordia Wisconsin for a Saturday NACC doubleheader at Bedrosian Stadium. In game one, the Spartans leaned on a dominant complete-game shutout from Katelyn Serafin to edge the Falcons 1-0. Game two featured an early scoring surge from CUW, as AU's late rally fell short in a 13-8 loss. The split moves the Spartans to 15-11 overall in the 2025 season.

Game Two Score: Concordia University Wisconsin 13, Aurora University 8

Game One
- The game began with Serafin setting the tone, retiring the Falcons in order in the first inning on a pair of flyouts and a quick catch in center.
- Both teams remained quiet through the first three innings. Aurora's first real threat came in the second when
Alex Thiel ripped a single down the right-field line. She advanced to second on an error, and
Carly Clemens reached on a miscue by the second baseman, putting two Spartans on. But a flyout ended the inning, stranding the runners.
- Aurora nearly broke through in the bottom of the third when
Lily Komperda singled and took second on a throwing error by the left fielder. She then stole third, putting the go-ahead run just 60 feet away. However, three straight outs left her stranded.
- The breakthrough finally came in the bottom of the fifth. Clemens drew a walk and was moved into scoring position by a textbook sacrifice bunt from Oviatt. Komperda delivered again, singling to right to put runners on the corners. With two outs and pressure mounting, a wild pitch bounced past the CUW catcher, and Clemens slid safely home—giving Aurora the 1-0 lead they had been hunting.
- Serafin didn't blink with the lead. In the top of the sixth, Concordia led off with a single up the middle, but Serafin calmly induced a popout and two flyouts to shut the door on the threat.
- In the seventh, Serafin closed the book. Three quick outs—a pop-up to short, another to the same spot, and a foul out behind the plate—secured her complete-game shutout and sealed the 1-0 victory for the Spartans.
Game Two
- The Falcons exploded out of the gate, scoring eight runs in the first inning on eight hits, highlighted by a three-run homer. Aurora quickly countered with four runs in the bottom half, capitalizing on a pair of hit batters and a two-run single from Stephanie DeBise, followed by RBI from
Alex Thiel and
Carly Clemens.
- Concordia added two more runs in the second and stretched their lead throughout the game with two home runs.
- Despite the early deficit, the Spartans kept battling. They tallied 15 hits, including multi-hit games from
Aubrey Ortiz (3-for-5), Clemens (3-for-3, 2 RBI), and
Nina Richards (2-for-3). Late-game sparks came in the seventh when pinch-hitter
Mia Malczyk doubled and
EJ Delgadillo drove in two on an error to cut into the deficit.
