The Aurora University baseball team continued their road trip on Tuesday afternoon as they traveled to Chicago to take on the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks in another NACC doubleheader. AU took game one by a score of 18-3 in seven innings backed by a 4-for-4 game from Dominick Curcio and dominant pitching performance from Justin Zimmerman, before winning game two in eight innings by a score of 10-0 with a shutout from Conner Hogan and two home runs by Brayden Gorecki.

Game One
- AU didn't waste any time grabbing a lead in the top-of-the first with back-to-back
Kyle Mack and
Ryan Buck RBI singles.
- Another pair of RBI singles from
Jaden Holgado and
Dominick Curcio gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead in the second.
- AU didn't stop there in the second, as Mack collected another RBI in the second before Curcio came around to score on a Scarlet Hawk error to make it 6-0.
- In the top-of-the-fourth
Joe Lukancic score on a Buck hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded, stretching AU's lead to 7-0.
- That lead became 9-0 later in the fourth with a
Logan Riley two-run single.
- Mason Washington roped a RBI double a batter later for the Spartans, before Riley came around to score on an IIT error to give AU an 11-0 lead.
- Mack collected another RBI singled in AU's half of the fifth, later coming around to score on a Washington ground out to stretch the lead to 13-0.
- AU starter
Justin Zimmerman exited after six innings pitched, giving up one run to IIT who scored in the bottom-of-the-sixth.
- Zimmerman also punched out 12 hitters while only giving up four hits.
- AU added five more runs in their half of the seventh to take an 18-1 lead over the Scarlet Hawks.
- IIT cut into that lead with two runs in their half of the seventh, but it wasn't enough in the 18-3 AU victory.
Game Two
- Game two began as more of a defensive battle, as AU starter
Conner Hogan struck out the IIT side in the second to keep each side scoreless through two.
- In the top-of-the-third,
Jaden Holgado scored on a
Kyle Mack sac-fly, before
Logan Riley gave AU a 3-0 lead after smacking a two-run double.

Brayden Gorecki led-off the fourth with a solo shot for the Spartans, giving them a 4-0 lead.

Dominick Curcio stretched that to 6-0 later in the fourth with a two-run single.
- In the top-of-the-sixth,
Joe Lukancic scored on a Nick Cznarnecki ground out and Riley continued his strong day for AU with a run scoring single to make it 8-0.
- Following his lead-off homer in the fourth, Gorecki led-off the seventh with another solo shot to give AU a 9-0 lead.
- Curcio joined Gorecki with a lead-off dinger of his own in the eighth, giving AU a 10-0 lead.
- Hogan retired the Scarlet Hawks 1-2-3 in the bottom-of-the-eighth to complete his shutout and give the Spartans the 10-0 victory.
- Hogan also finished with nine strikeouts and just three hits given up in his eight innings of work.
