Spartans too much for MSOE in 18-5 win

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team picked up their fourth-straight victory of the season with an 18-5 win over the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday evening. Brianna Peck led the charge once again with five goals, while Sydney Breitenstein and Olivia Dahlberg each finished with five points to help AU in the NACC victory at Spartan Athletic Park.

How it happened
- MSOE took an early 1-0 lead at 12:14 in the opening frame, but Sydney Breitenstein answered right back with a goal of her own for the Spartans at 10:40 in the first.
- At 8:35 in the first, Ava Courtney drew a foul for the Spartans and found the back of the net with a free-position goal.
- Nicolina Smith stretched that lead to 3-1 for AU with 6:20 to go in the first off an assist from Olivia Dahlberg.
- The Raiders scored one nearing the end of the first to cut their deficit to 3-2 going into the second quarter of play.
- Brianna Peck sniped one in at 11:39 in the second to give AU a 4-2 advantage. 
- At 6:13 in the second, Sydney Mann found Caley Russell for another AU score.
- That lead stretched to 6-2 for the Spartans with 4:36 to go in the half when Dahlberg found the back of the net off another assist from Mann.
- Breitenstein gave AU a 7-2 lead going into the break with her second goal of the game at 1:57 in the second.
- Peck continued her strong day with another goal less than three minutes into the second half, before MSOE answered back at 10:37 in the third to cut their deficit to 8-3.
- Back-to-back goals for the Raiders about midway through the third made it 8-5.
- The Spartans closed out the third with four unanswered goals as Dahlberg netted two more, with the other two coming from the duo of Russell and Peck.
- That duo didn't stop there as another goal each from Russell and Peck gave AU a 14-5 lead.
- The Spartans extended that lead to 16-5 later in the fourth after back-to-back goals from Smith and Axvig.
- Two more goals each from Peck and Dahlberg helped seal the deal in an 18-5 Spartan victory.
- Rachel Wickey finished with five saves in-goal for AU, while Alexis Crowley did not allow a goal when she entered midway through the third for the Spartans.
