The Aurora University men's lacrosse team came back from an early deficit after the first quarter and never looked back en route to their 12-9 win Wednesday night at Spartan Athletic Park, as the number one seeded Spartans took down number four seeded Lake Forest College.
Ben Strub finished with five goals to lead AU, while
Tyler Foerstel finished with three goals and two assists to help set the Spartans up with a NACC Championship contest on Saturday.

- LFC got out to an early 2-0 lead less than five minutes into the contest.

Griffin Joas got AU on the board about halfway through the first quarter, before the Foresters answered back to give them a 3-1 lead.

Chris Bucci trimmed the AU deficit back to one when he sniped one in nearing the end of the first quarter.
- AU rattled off four unanswered goals to begin the second, as
Ben Strub scored three-straight goals, with the third coming on an assist from
Tyler Foerstel while AU was a man-up.
- Foerstel then finished that four goal run with a man-up score of his own, giving AU a 6-3 lead with 7:10 to go in the first-half.
- The Foresters scored one before the end of the half, giving the Spartans a 6-4 lead going into the break.
- Foerstel came back again early in the second-half as he sniped one through, making it 7-4.
- Each side started to trade goals going into the middle of the third, as two more Strub goals gave AU a 9-7 lead going into the fourth quarter.
- Another three unanswered goals from AU gave them a commanding 12-7 lead with less than five minutes to play, as
Dylan Kranzush got in on the scoring fun during that stretch.
- Despite two goals late from LFC, AU held them off for the 12-9 victory.
