The Aurora University women's lacrosse team began their 2025 NACC Tournament on late Wednesday afternoon, as the #2 seeded Spartans took on the #3 seeded Eagles of Edgewood College in a conference semifinal matchup. The Spartans led the entire contest, until about five and a half minutes left in regulation, where Edgewood tied the score at 12. Despite a late goal from Kenly Axvig that also tied the game again at 13, AU fell in overtime by a score of 14-13.

- AU wasted no time grabbing an early 2-0 lead less than three minutes into the contest, as back-to-back goals from
Nicolina Smith and
Ava Courtney gave hosts the lead.
- Edgewood got on the board at 11:47 in the first, but
Caley Russell answered right back just 13 seconds later off an assist from
Kenly Axvig to make it 3-1.
- At 8:49 in the first, the Eagles cut the AU lead to 3-2.
- Russell re-gave AU their two goal lead at 6:53, before she found
Sydney Breitenstein with two and half minutes in the opening quarter make it 5-2.

Sydney Mann found Axvig for another AU goal early in the second quarter, before Axvig assisted
Olivia Dahlberg to give the Spartans a 7-2 lead.
- With 5:58 to go in the first-half, the duo of Russell and Axvig hooked up again to give AU an 8-2 advantage.
- The Eagles stormed back four unanswered goals, before Dahlberg connected again for AU off another Russell assist to make it 9-6 going into halftime.
- About six minutes into the second-half, Axvig netted her second goal when she found the back of the net.
- Back-to-back goals from Edgewood at 5:20 and 5:05, respectively, cut their deficit to two in the third.

Lorelei Babich joined the scoring fun for AU at 2:49 in the third, before Axvig continued her strong day with her hat-trick score, making it 12-8 in favor of AU.
- The Eagles tacked on one nearing the end of the third to give AU a 12-9 lead going into the final quarter of play.
- Another four unanswered goals from Edgewood gave them a 13-12 lead with 4:39 to play.
- Axvig tied the game at 13 with just 3:19 remaining, good for her fourth goal of the game.
- Despite another shot-on-goal from Axvig with just 19 seconds remaining, the game would enter overtime.
- Edgewood took the win by scoring the first goal of the overtime period 18 seconds in, making it 14-13 and moving them on to the NACC Championship.
