The Aurora University baseball team returned to Jim Schmid Field on Saturday afternoon for a conference doubleheader against St. Norbert College. AU took game one 6–2 behind a strong outing from Edgar Barba and a go-ahead homer from Logan Riley, before the offense erupted in game two with an 18-hit performance to run away with a 16–4 victory and complete the sweep.

The Basics
Game One Score: Aurora University 6, St.Norbert College 2
Game Two Score: Aurora University 16, St.Norbert College 4 (8 innings)
Record: Aurora University 13-10 overall and 8-2 NACC; St. Norbert College 6-14 overall, 1-7 NACC

How it happened
Game One
-The Spartans found themselves trailing early after St. Norbert with a solo home run to right field in the top of the second to open the scoring. The Green Knights continued to threaten, loading the bases later in the inning following a defensive miscue and a walk, but a sharp 6-4 double play ended the rally and kept the deficit at just one.
- AU responded in the bottom of the third with a two-out offensive outburst. With two outs and a runner on second after a single and error, Jaden Holgado roped an RBI double to right-center to tie the game.
- Joe Lukancic followed with an infield single before Dominick Curcio punched a single up the middle to plate Holgado. Kyle Mack capped the inning with a sharp RBI single to second base, giving the Spartans a 3–1 lead.
- St. Norbert inched closer in the fourth, cutting the lead to 3–2. But that would be the last run the Green Knights would scratch across, as Aurora's pitching and defense took over the rest of the way.
- The turning point came in the sixth inning when, after a lead-off single by Matthew Washington, Logan Riley drove a 1-0 pitch deep over the center field fence for his first home run of the season. The two-run shot extended the lead to 5–2 and gave the Spartans some breathing room.
- In the eighth, the Spartans added one more insurance run. Washington drew a walk and advanced to second on a ground-out before scoring on an error by the shortstop, stretching the advantage to 6–2.
- Edgar Barba (2–0) turned in five strong innings, allowing just three hits and two earned runs while walking three and striking out two. He handed the ball to Anthony Consiglio, who was nearly untouchable over the final four frames. He earned his first save of the season by striking out eight batters and allowing just three hits without issuing a walk.

Game Two
- St. Norbert jumped out fast, scoring three runs in the first behind four hits and a wild pitch.
- The Green Knights tacked on another in the third to take a 4-0 lead.
- AU's offense came alive in the bottom of the third. Trailing 4–0, the Spartans strung together five hits, highlighted by a two-run double from Kyle Mack and a two-run double by Matthew Washington, tying the game at 4–4.
- The floodgates opened an inning later.
- After a lead-off single and a hit-by-pitch, Mack stepped in again and crushed a three-run triple to the right field corner to give the Spartans their first lead of the game, 7–4. A sacrifice fly from Logan Riley, RBI single by Spencer Ruch, and an infield single by Jaden Holgado capped a six-run fourth to push the lead to 10–4.
- Mack was a force at the plate, finishing the game 2-for-5 with five RBIs, a double, and a triple. Holgado added a 3-for-4 performance with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored, while JoeLukancic added a two-hit day and crushed a three-run homer in the eighth to seal the win.
- Brandon Todd entered in relief and slammed the door. The junior right-hander threw six shutout innings, giving up just three hits and three walks while striking out two to earn his first win of the season.
- Aurora tacked on one run in the seventh and five more in the eighth, with a pinch-hit RBI single from Brody Mac and a sac fly from Ruch setting the stage for Lukancic's long ball.
- In total, eight different Spartans recorded hits and six players drove in runs. Aurora also played clean defense behind Todd, committing no errors while the pitching staff held St. Norbert to just three hits after the third inning.
