The Aurora University baseball team finished as the number two seed in the final regular season Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings of 2025, as the Spartans took on the number six seed Eagles of Edgewood College in Thursday afternoon's match up, with the winner advancing in the conference tournament. AU nearly pulled off a five run ninth inning comeback, but fell just short in the 10-9 loss. With the defeat, AU now faces an elimination game on Friday afternoon with the opponent to be determined.

- Two batters later in the first, Matthew Washington came around to score on a Nick Czarnecki sac-fly to make it 2-0 in favor of the Spartans.
- Edgewood got one back in the top-of-the-second, but AU answered back in their half of the third when Spencer Ruch scored on a Lukancic ground out.
- In the top-of-the-third, the Eagles scored two runs to tie the game at three.
- Each starter started to settle in on the bump, as the sides remained scoreless going into the seventh inning.
- In the top-of-the-seventh, Edgewood scored three runs to take a 6-3 lead.
- AU started a rally in their half of the seventh, as Brayden Gorecki ripped a run scoring double to left and cut AU's deficit to 6-4.
- That deficit became 6-5 later in the bottom-of-the-seventh when Ryan Buck came around to score on a Carson Faust sac-fly.
- In the top-of-the-ninth, Edgewood grabbed a 10-5 lead.
- The Spartans started another rally in their half of the ninth, as Logan Riley went the other way for a two-run double that scored Jaden Holgado and Washington.
- The very next batter Czarnecki ripped a two run single that brought in Riley and Lukancic, putting AU within one run at 10-9. 
- AU could not get Czarnecki across in the ninth, as Edgewood took the 10-9 win.
