The Aurora University baseball team survived and advanced in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament, defeating Marian University 2-1 in 10 innings, scoring in the first and 10th while pitcher Justin Zimmerman willed his way to nine innings of strong work for his ninth win of the season.

- AU scored the first run of the game with a lead-off walk to Dominick Curcio and he scored with two outs on a Logan Riley double.
- The game would remain 1-0 going to the bottom of the seventh though the Spartans left nine runners on base in the first seven innings.
- Marian would score a run in the seventh to tie the game 1-1.
- Tied 1-1 in the ninth, Spartan Justin Zimmerman got a strikeout with the bases loaded to send the game to extra innings.
- In the 10th, Riley led off with a double and one out later following a pitching change, Ryan Buck flew out to center to allow Riley to score the go ahead run.
- Brandon Todd came on to pick up his first save of the season with one inning of work and give Zimmerman and the Spartans another win.
