Spartans Move On To Third Day of NACC Tourney

The Aurora University baseball team took on Benedictine University on Friday night in AU's third game of the 2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. The Spartans advanced by eliminating the long time rival from Lisle, 11-6.

Beyond the Box
With the win, AU Head Coach Adam Stevens becomes the all-time leader in career wins as a Head Coach in the long and proud history of the Spartan baseball program. The win was his 321 of his time as the leader of the AU program.

How it happened
-  Four hits in the first for the Spartans plated three runs and an early lead. Nick Czarnecki had a two-run single as the bit hit in the frame.
- BU cut the AU lead to 3-2 in the third with a two-run home run.
- Jaden Holgado drove in Brayden Gorecki in the bottom of the third as the two combined on singles to push the lead to 4-2.
- The Spartans added a run in the fifth thanks to walks and a hit batsmen. Ryan Buck hit a sac fly to score the fifth AU run of the game.
- After BU scored a run in the sixth, Gorecki launched a huge two-run homer in the bottom part of the inning an AU now led 7-3.
- BU scored three times in the seventh and Mason Ishii was relieved by Brandon Todd.
- As the offense had done all game, the Spartans answered the BU scores.
- A Buck single was followed by a Holgado triple and later in the inning Dominick Curcio drove in Holgado for a 9-6 AU lead.
- Singles from Logan Riley and Gorecki started the eighth and both would score on a Buck triple.
- The Spartans and Todd sat down the Eagles in order in the ninth and AU was victorious 11-6.
