Spartans set tone early in blowout win over Dominican

The Aurora University women's basketball team led wire to wire in a dominating 94-59 victory over Dominican University on Wednesday night. The Spartans scored 34 first-quarter points on their way to shooting 50% from the field (33-of-65) and 50% from three (16-of-32) in the victory.

- AU's Krystyna Manzanarez set the tone for the night as she drained a three on the Spartans first possession for a 3-0 lead.
- She would go on to score 16 of the Spartans 34 first quarter points.
- The Spartans went 13-of-18 from the field and 7-of-11 from three in the opening 10 minutes.
- AU led 34-15.
- The hot start slowed in the second but the Spartans maintained a 20-point lead and led 48-28 going to half.
- A 10-2 AU run to open the third forced a Dominican timeout and the Spartans were ahead comfortably at 58-30.
- AU led 71-43 after three quarters of action.
- The Spartans continued to control the action and a three from Paulina Geyrhalter put AU ahead by their largest lead.
- AU would defeat Dominican 94-59.
