Spartans set numerous records for three's in a game in win over Rockford

Records are meant to be broken and the Aurora University women's basketball team did just that in a 111-50 victory on Wednesday evening over Rockford University. The Spartans drained 26 three-point field goals in the contest, setting a new single game AU record and tying the NCAA Division III single game record.

Beyond the Box
- The 26 made three-point field goals in the game set a new AU single game record with the previous mark being 19.
- The 26 three's ties a NCAA Division III single game record as well.

How it happened
- AU came out on first with Alina Anderson draining the first shot of the game from three.
- When the first quarter ended, AU led 44-9 and had gone 11-of-16 from three.
- Six different Spartans hit a three with Courtney Schuk and Anderson each going three-of-three.
- The first 10 points of the second came from Krystyna Manzanarez with two coming from three.
- Heading to halftime, AU led 70-26 and were 17-of-32 from beyond the arc.
- With the previous AU record (19) within range in the second half.
- 4:39 into the third the AU record was broken as Schuk drained a three.
- The Spartans led 88-39 after three.
- As AU emptied the bench, the three's continued to fall in the fourth.
- Payton Beck scored 14 points in the fourth with four coming from three-point range.
- Beck's made three with 2:35 left in the game tied the NCAA Division III record for a single game with the 26th made.
- AU went on to win 111-50.
