Overtime loss in NACC Tourney has Spartan season come to an end

The Aurora University women's basketball battled tooth and nail in the NACC tournament semi-final at St. Norbert College on Friday night. The contest would head to overtime before a conclusion was secured with AU falling 71-70.

How it happened
- The Spartans came out firing and led from the first basket, a three from Alina Anderson.
- Krystyna Manzanarez got off to a blistering start with 12 points as AU led 17-9 after one.
- AU continued to control the game and had the lead expand to 14 on two trips in the second.
- The Spartans led by 12, 35-23 going into halftime.
- Into the third, the Spartans continued to lead and with 3:30 left, the led by 10 (44-34).
- AU went one-of-five shooting the final 3:30 of the third and SNC closed on a 11-3 run.
- The Spartans led 47-45 going to the fourth.
- AU managed to hold off the Green Knights early in the fourth but eventually relinquished the lead and fell behind by six (58-52) with 3:49 left.
- A 7-0 AU run followed in the next 1:40 and the Spartans led again at 59-58 with two minutes to play in regulation.
- The teams traded leads and eventually were tied 62-62 with six seconds to play.
- AU drew up a final play and when it appeared that senior Kylie Fischbach had beaten her defender to the baseline for a layup, she was whistled for an offensive foul, her fifth which sent her to the bench for the remainder of the night.
- The score would remain tied 62-62 and head to overtime.
- The overtime period saw seven lead changes between the teams as they battled it out.
- AU led by two (70-68) with 1:27 to play as Alina Anderson went one-of-two from the free-throw line.
- After SNC tied the game 70-70 with 50 seconds left, the ensuing in bounds pass was stolen by the hosts.
- A foul on a rebound called on AU's Anderson sent SNC to the free-throw line with 20 seconds remaining.
- SNC went one-of-two to have AU down 71-70.
- The Spartans had a chance to win the contest in the final seconds but had a tough time corralling the ball.
- A last second shot missed and AU's season came to an end, 71-70.
