Aurora University junior guard
Juan Madrigal was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Madrigal earned the honor after he fueled the Aurora offense in a 2-0 week for the Spartans. He averaged 32.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game as the two wins pushed Aurora's winning streak to a program-best 15 games. Overall, Madrigal shot 56.8 percent (25-of-44) from the field while converting on all 11 of his attempts from the free-throw line. In a 95-83 win over Marian, he poured in 40 points - the fourth-most by a Spartan in the program's NCAA era - while shooting 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the field. In Aurora's 83-61 win at Dominican, he collected a 25-point, 10-rebound double-double from his guard position.
Next action for the Spartan men's basketball team comes on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
