Spartans win in shootout at MSOE

The Aurora University men's hockey team rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2–2 tie through regulation and overtime before winning the shootout 3-2 against Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

How it happened
- MSOE struck first midway through the opening period with a goal at 7:55 of the first.
- The Raiders extended the lead late in the first period on the power play.
- AU responded in the second period when Jakson Kirk scored at 7:49 of the second, assisted by Chayce Schmidt and Lukas Sedlacek, cutting the deficit to 2–1.
- After a long delay late in the second period due to a hole in the boards, the teams headed to the third with AU trailing 2-1.
- Hassan Akl scored the game-tying goal on the power play at 17:43 of the third, assisted by Jakson Kirk.
- Regulation and overtime ended deadlocked at 2–2, sending the game to a shootout.
- AU won the shootout 3-2 to secure the extra point.
- Matt O'Donnell made 22 saves in goal for the Spartans.
