Spartans Open up NACC Play with win over Falcons

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team headed to Mequon, Wisconsin to take on Concordia University Wisconsin in the first game of NACC play. AU finished the game handing CUW their first loss of the year with a 11-9 victory. The Spartans came back from a 7-1 deficit, scoring 10 of the last 12 goals in the game for the win.

How it happened
- The Spartans trailed 5-0 after the first quarter in Wisconsin.
- Owen Spencer got the Spartans on the scoreboard 25 seconds into the second quarter on a goal that had an assist from Griffin Joas.
- Spencer and Tyler Foerstel scored the final two goals of the first-half but the Spartans trailed 7-3 going to halftime.
- The Spartans came out firing in the second-half.
- Dylan Kranzush scored twice and when Luke DuPont scored, AU was down one at 7-6 with 3:43 left in the third.
- With less than a minute left in the third, Spencer scored his third of the day to again bring AU within one at 8-7.
- Chris Bucci tied the game 50 seconds into the fourth quarter but answered minutes later.
- Trailing 9-8, the Spartans finished the game with the last three goals.
- Griffin Joas tied the game 9-9 with 8:39 remaining.
- The eventual game-winning goal came from Bucci with 3:56 left in the fourth.
- 51 seconds later, Foerstel rounded out the games scoring and gave the Spartans the 11-9 lead.
- The AU defense and goalie Asher Deputy held on to the lead and celebrated the two goal win.
