Spartans open NACC play with running clock win over CUW

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team opened up Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Athletic Park against Concordia University Wisconsin. AU got off to a fast start and rolled to a 17-4 victory.

How it happened
- Nicolina Smith got the Spartans scoring started 1:53 into the contest with an assist from Eva Taute.
- After CUW tied the contest, the Spartans scored four times in the first quarter and three more times in the second to lead 8-1.
- Ava Courtney scored four times in the 7-0 run with goals also coming from Taute, Smith and Amelia Bell.
- Smith and Courtney added goals in the final minutes of the second to send AU to halftime up 10-2.
- Bell and Courtney came out strong to start the third, each scoring two more goals, and AU led 14-2 with the running clock enacted.
- Smith scored the final three AU tallies of the game as the Spartans ran away from the Falcons and won 17-4.
