Janiak and Ramirez have strong performances at NCAA National Championship

History was set for Aurora University women's wrestling this weekend as the Spartans were among the first women to compete in the newly established NCAA Championship event.
Spartan Alexis Janiak finished second in the 131-bracket with a heartbreaking tie-breaking scenario that saw Janiak drop the 5-5 decision by a multi-layered tie-breaker. Earlier in the day, Spartan Genesis Ramirez defeated three ranked opponents to finish third in the 103-bracket. AU finished with 33.5 team points, a 13th place finish and was the third among NCAA Division III programs.
