History was set for Aurora University women's wrestling this weekend as the Spartans were among the first women to compete in the newly established NCAA Championship event.

Alexis Janiak finished second in the 131-bracket with a heartbreaking tie-breaking scenario that saw Janiak drop the 5-5 decision by a multi-layered tie-breaker. Earlier in the day, Spartan
Genesis Ramirez defeated three ranked opponents to finish third in the 103-bracket. AU finished with 33.5 team points, a 13th place finish and was the third among NCAA Division III programs.
FINAL SCORE: Aurora University finished 13th out of 54 teams with 33.5 points.
