The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Don Church Twilight Meet hosted by Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL on Saturday. The Spartans finished seventh out of 20 teams with 21 points on a very windy day. University of Chicago won the meet with 232 points.
Armando Acosta won the 1,500-Meter in 3:57.48. He ran a strong race to win, closing his final lap in 60 seconds to outlast the talented field.
The Spartan 4x400-Meter Relay team of
Ayden McGill,
Henry Beyer, Josh Beechler, and MeKhii Morris-Heron finished third in 3:29.12.
Aurora's 4x100-Meter Relay team of
Ethan Taylor,
Caleb Burgins,
Jaxson Foster, and
Jahrel Rimpel placed seventh in 43.98s.
Jahrel RImpel ran a personal best time of 22.36s in the 200-Meter to place ninth overall.
MeKhii Morris-Heron raced to a season best time of 51.42s in the 400-Meter, good for tenth place.
Freshman
Jaxson Foster placed second in his heat of the 100-Meter in a personal best time of 10.94s. He also competed in the 200-Meter, where he ran 22.70s to again finish runner-up in his heat.
Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Cougar Invite hosted by Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Il. The two-day meet will take place on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25.
