Aurora University Athletics

The Aurora University softball team swept the visiting Green Knights of St. Norbert College on Monday night. They took game one by a final of 10-7 on the back of four Lily Komperda RBIs. Then took game one, winning 7-5 after a four-run first inning.

Game One
- The Green Knights got out on top early, scoring four runs over the first two innings, taking a 4-0 lead.
- AU responded in the second when Lily Komperda doubled in Stephani DeBise.
- Scoring again in the third were the Spartans when DeBise smack a two-RBI double to center, then Komperda tripled Angie Delgado and Madison Myers.
- AU cutting the SNC lead to now 5-4.
- St. Norbert scored once in the top of the fourth.
- Then another RBI double from DeBise in the fifth scored Mia Rivera.
- The score now 6-5 with SNC in the lead.
- A monsters five run sixth inning for the Spartans was started when Rivera hit a RBI single to center, scoring Erin Young.
- The inning was capped when a familiar name in Komperda singled to right center, scoring another familiar name in DeBise.
- St. Norbert would score once more in the seventh but it wasn't enough as AU would take the win, 10-7 in game one.

Game Two
- St. Norbert once again tacked on a run early, with one run in the first.
- AU responded immediately with four in the bottom of the inning.
- Nina Richards put the ball in play to score Aubrey Ortiz.
- Alyssa Gale capped off the big first inning with a RBI single up the middle to sore Komperda and Delgado.
- Tallying two more runs in the second was AU when Richards hit a sac-fly and DeBise had another RBI double, her fourth double of the day.
- Clarly Clemens scored in the bottom of the sixth for AU, taking advantage of a Green Knights error.
- St. Norbert made things interesting in the seventh as they attempted to mount a comeback. They scored four runs in the inning, but the fire was eventually snuffed out.
- AU took game two by a final score of 7-5 to complete the sweep.
