Hulsey Repeats as NACC Roger Fleming Men's Golf Athlete of the Year

For the second consecutive season, Aurora University senior Jackson Hulsey has been named the recipient of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Roger Fleming Men's Golf Athlete of the Year award.

Hulsey was selected by a vote of the conference's men's golf coaches.

It is the eighth honor in succession for an Aurora golfer, and the 10th for the Spartans as a program. The award honors the legacy of the late Roger Fleming, the founding director of athletics and longtime head men's golf coach at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Hulsey is also just the third individual to capture multiple honors, joining AU's Jack Vercautren (four, 2021-2024) and Wisconsin Lutheran's Daniel Behm (three, 2007-2009).

A four-time NACC Men's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week, Hulsey registered top-10 finishes in seven of 10 regular-season events this season, including five top-five finishes. He captured medalist honors four times. He fired a 54-total of 1-over 217 (71-78-68) to win the NACC men's golf individual title for a second consecutive year, this time by three strokes over the rest of the field. Hulsey also captured medalist honors at the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic, won the GCAA Folds of Honor Challenge in a playoff, and tied for medalist honors at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate. His only non-medalist top-five finish came at the Lake Forest Forester Spring Invitational, where he finished second to teammate Christian Wakeford by a stroke.

Hulsey posted the NACC's top scoring average, averaging 71.44 strokes over 27 rounds - over a stroke better than any other NACC player and over two strokes better than any non-Aurora player. He fired 18 rounds at par or below - including a league-best nine sub-70 rounds - led by a pair of NACC record-setting 65s. The first came on Sept. 8, 2025, at the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic and set the NACC scoring record in relation to par at 7-under. He fired a second 65 at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate on March 21, 2026. The two 65s matched the NACC record for lowest 18-hole score, joining four others. Hulsey is the only individual to make the list twice.

Hulsey capped his career with a tie for 27th place at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships while helping lead Aurora to a third-place team finish - the best showing by a NACC golf program at the NCAA Championships. He finished with a 2-over 289 total (69-74-77-69) and was the only Spartan with two sub-70 rounds.

Hulsey ended the season ranked 22nd nationally in NCAA Division III by Clippd. He was also the top-ranked player in the region, recording the lowest scoring average while playing the hardest strength of schedule among NACC players.

In May, Hulsey was one of three NACC men's golfers to be named all-region by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
