Aurora University Athletics

The Aurora University women's volleyball team opened up the Franklin Tournament with a pair of dominating wins over Greenville University and Alma College, winning both matches 3-0.


MATCH ONE SCORE: Aurora University 3, Greenville University  0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-21)
MATCH TWO SCORE: Aurora University 3, Alma College 0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-13)

MATCH ONE:
- The Spartans controlled the opened set, winning handily 25-17.
- Katelyn Ruse, Rosie Karl and Alissa Hulst each had three kills in the set win while Katie Brisk collected seven digs.
- Set two was close early before the Spartans opened up and throttled Greenville 25-12.
- Trinity Nelson had four aces and 10 assists in the set two win.
- AU had to overcome a deficit in the third set but managed to do just that and win 25-21.
- Nelson finished with 20 assists in the third set as AU knocked down 22 kills as a team.

MATCH TWO
- The dominated the opening set, winning 25-12.
- Izabella Kowalczyk had seven kills while Trinity Nelson had 11 assists in the win.
- The second set was all AU once again with the Spartans winning 25-14. 
- Kowalczyk led six Spartan attackers with five kills.
- The third and final set was no different with the Spartans turning to a new lineup for the final set in a 25-13 win.
- Erin Henkel, Izzy Turner and Addyson Timpane each had two kills in the win while Meredith Milz had 11 assists.

Next action for the Spartan women's volleyball team comes Saturday, September 12 when they travel to Franklin College and take on Eureka College at 1:00 pm and Mount St. Joseph University at 3:00 pm in Franklin, Indiana.
