- The Spartans took the opening kickoff and needed four plays to march 88-yards for a 7-0 lead when
Jackson Alcorn hit
AJ Highsmith on a 30-yard strike.
- The defense forced a three and out and the offense added to the lead in four more plays for a 13-0 lead.
- The PAT was blocked with Rockford returning the ball for a two-point score.
- Later in the opening quarter the Spartans had a longer drive, this time 11-plays going 83 yards with Alcorn hitting
Ethan Svoboda for a score and a 21-2 AU lead.
- On the first drive of the second quarter Alcorn and Highsmith connected for a second time to cap off a four-play 85 yard drive and a 28-2 lead.
- The AU pass attack continued to work well on the next Spartan possession. Alcorn connected with Dominick Cornonado and AU led 35-2 in the second.
- Rockford was able to mount a long drive of their own with a field goal after a 15-play drive.
- Just 10 seconds later the Spartans scored to go ahead 42-5 with a 58-yard score from Alcorn to Svoboda.
- AU led 42-5 going to halftime.
- The Spartans scored the only touchdown of the third quarter on the first possession with Alcorn connecting with Coronado for a second time.
