2021: Was named the 2021 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year, was selected as a 2021 Gagliardi Trophy Finalist, and a Second-Team All-Region by D3football.com. Zimbelman won the distinction of the NACC Offensive Player of the Year for a second consecutive season following another strong season as the signal caller of the Spartans. In 11 games, Zimbelman completed 219-of-370 passes for 3,065 yards and ranking among an NCAA Division III-best 46 touchdowns. Zimbelman threw for five or more touchdowns in seven of 10 regular-season games. He finished the season with a 59.2 completion percentage, a 165.5 passing efficiency and 278.6 yards per game.

2020-21: Zimbelman was selected as the quarterback on the CoSIDA First-Team All-America team, the second consecutive season earning this lofty honor. Zimbleman also garnered NACC and Spartan Man of the Year Awards. Was named a NACC Scholar Athlete.

2019: He was selected as a 2019 Gagliardi Trophy Finalist. D3football.com Honorable Mention All-American, a CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-America quarterback, a third-team all-region quarterback by D3football.com, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year and All-Conference. Zimbelman is the first Spartan to advance to the semifinal or final stage of the Gagliardi award process. Played in 11 games and completed 280 of 441 passes for 3,614 yards with 57 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and ran for 414 yards and four touchdowns. He is among the Division III national leaders in passing touchdowns (57), points responsible for (368), points responsible for per game (33.5), total offense (366.2 per game), passing yards (3,614), passing yards per game (328.5) and completions per game (25.45). Was named an AU and NACC Scholar-Athlete.

2018: Was named a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Second-Team quarterback. Played in ten games completing 152 of 278 passes for 1,809 yards 12 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and ran for 47 yards and five touchdowns on 64 attempts. Was named an AU and NACC Scholar-Athlete.

2017: Attended Aurora University and appeared in 8 games, Zimbelman threw 1,064 yards and 7 touchdowns and also rushed for 94 yards with two touchdowns.

High School: Attended Manteno High School where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball.  He earned Team Captain, All-Conference, and All-Area, All-Conference Academic.
