Aurora University Athletics Academic Support Services focuses on providing academic resources to foster student-athlete academic success. The program is designed to provide additional assistance in the form of mentorship, study halls and academic monitoring.
Spartan Mentors: In an effort to develop stronger connections between academics and athletics at Aurora University this program partners faculty members with each athletics team. Each faculty member (or several) will serve as a liaison for each team to support the academic and personal development of the student-athletes.

AU Athletics Academic Support Services focuses on providing resources to foster student-athlete academic success. The program provides mentors, monitoring and study space to help you stay on top of your academic game.
THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:
» Travel Letters - Student-Athlete specific program
This letter outlines all possible class conflicts due to travel and competition dates. Student-athletes give this letter to instructors at the beginning of each semester.Â
» Spartan Academic Game Plan- Student-Athlete specific program
Student-athletes needing additional support will be placed into a mentoring program with an athletic administrator to focus on time-management, organization and study skills, and to address any barriers to success.Â
» Progress Reports- Student-Athlete specific program
Twice each semester, progress reports are distributed to freshmen and at-risk student-athletes to assess academic standing.Â
» Tutoring Services - Available to all AU students
The Academic Support Center offers free mathematics and writing tutoring as well as assistance with test-taking, time-management and study skills.Â
» Academic Alert- Available to all AU students
Throughout the semester, faculty members can complete an academic warning form when a student-athlete’s academic performance is falling below standards.
