Denny Short started his tenure with the Spartan baseball program in 1992 and has been volunteering his time working with AU infielders ever since.
Short is well known in the Aurora baseball circles having spent coaching stints at East Aurora High School where in eight seasons his teams won two conference championships. In his eight seasons at Aurora Central Catholic, teams at ACC won the 1982 state championship, finished second in 1983 and made an additional elite eight appearance. For the last 20 seasons he has patrolled the dugout at Waubonsie Valley High School with a second place finish in 1996 and an elite eight finish in 2005.
A 1971 graduate of Michigan State University, Short played three seasons for the Spartans before acquiring his bachelor's degree in education.
