Brent Harner joined the Aurora University football program as an assistant coach in December 2018. Harner will coach the Spartan defensive backs and special teams.
A 2008 graduate of Aurora University, Harner played three seasons as a Spartans as a running back and return man. He was a captain for the 2007 Spartans while being named a Illini-Badger Football Conference All-Conference recipient in 2006 (special teams returner) and 2007 (running back). In three seasons. As a high school athlete at Kaneland High School, Harner was the Aurora Beacon News Player of the Year. He is still the all-time rushing leader at Kaneland.
Over the last 15 years, Harner has been a key figure at Don Beebe's House of Speed where he served as the Director of Training. He has been hands on with athletes including several NFL draft picks.
Harner holds numerous certifications including National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Fly Solo Program, American Sport Education Program (ASEP) and National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS).
