Matt Schryvers

Matt Schryvers joined the Aurora University track and field coaching staff as the throws coach in the fall of 2017. In the summer of 2018, Schryvers was promoted to the top assistant for track and field and takes on an assistant role for the cross country program.

In his first year at AU, Schryvers guided the throwers to three All-American honors, six national qualifiers, and 13 school and conference records. The throwers also won seven individual conference titles in 2018, achieving at least one in each throwing discipline. The Spartan throwers also exhibited great depth in his first year with 14 All-Conference performances and 28 entries to the AU Top-10 record book.

Schryvers comes to AU after spending seven years at Western Oregon University as a graduate assistant and assistant coach for the throws. In his time at Western Oregon, Schryvers coached 12 USTFCCCA All-West Region honorees, nine Division II national qualifiers, 18 All-GNAC Conference Performers and three GNAC Conference Champions in the shot put.
Schryvers competed at Western Oregon in the throwing events and was the 2011 GNAC Indoor Champion in the weight throw. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in management and information systems from Western Oregon.
