Blake Sorensen joined the Aurora University hockey staff as an assistant coach for the 2014-2015 season.
A standout player for St. Norbert College, Sorensen has a wealth of playing and coaching experience that he will bring to the Spartans.
After graduating in 1999 from St. Norbert he spent the part of six seasons playing professionally in Europe before returning home to North America and joining the coaching ranks. Prior to his collegiate career, Sorensen played one season of Midget AAA for the York Simcoe Express (Ontario) and two seasons of junior hockey for the Kitchener Dutchmen (Kitchener, Ontario).
He has served as a skills instructor for the Chicago Jet's Hockey program, the director of hockey operations and varsity boys head coach at the Latin School of Chicago, an assistant coach for the Chicago Mission and an assistant coach for the University of Illinois and Robert Morris Division I Club teams.
A native of Newmarket, Ontario, Sorensen now resides in Chicago, Illinois.
