Taylor Reeves (Petersen) joins the AU coaching staff as an assistant coach after being away from the program.
In her career, Taylor had a .374 batting average with 54 runs batting in, 60 runs scored, 27 doubles, 10 home runs in 84 games played. She also posted a record of 39-8 in the circle, with a .68 ERA, striking out 450 and only walking 22 batters.
When Taylor finished her AU career she held records of: victories and strikeouts in a season, strikeouts in a career, no-hit games in a career, shut outs in a season, and shut outs in a career.
She captured honors in 2004 NFCA Great Lakes Second-Team All-Region and in 2005 was selected NFCA Great Lakes First-Team All-Region, NFCA First-Team All-American, ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Second-Team and 2005 ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District First-Team. In both, 2004 and 2005 she was selected Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference Softball Player of the Year and Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference Softball All-Conference.
She came to AU from Aurora, Illinois where she played her high school softball at West Aurora High School. She earned her bachelor’s and master's degree from Aurora University. She has a bachelor's in Secondary Education and Biology and a master's in teacher leadership for middle school and high school life science. She is married AU baseball alum John Reeves.
