Romano comes to AU as a graduate assistant after completing her collegiate soccer career at Millikin University. As a senior and two-year captain at Millikin, Romano was selected to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) All-Conference second team and selected to the NCAA Central Region All-Region third team. An accomplished student, Romano also earned CCIW All-Conference Academic Team all four years, earned ESPN All-District Academic third team twice, and earned NCAA Central Region All-Academic third team her senior year. Romano was honored as her Team MVP for her senior year and was chosen as her team’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player for three consecutive years.

A graduate of Fremd High School in Palatine, Illinois, Romano’s soccer team finished second in the state her senior year.
