Aurora University women’s soccer player senior forward Jessica Novickas (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park HS) was named to the Northern Athletics Conference Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 1, 2009.
Novickas led the Spartans to a 7-0 win over Concordia University Chicago in AU's only contest of the week. In the victory, she had two goals and two assists and helped the Spartans clinch their fourth consecutive Northern Athletics Conference championship and the top seed in the NAC tournament.
Thus far on the season, Novickas has 10 goals, four game-winning goals, a team-leading nine assists and 29 points.
Novickas and the Spartan women’s soccer team are in action next tomorrow Tuesday, November 3, 2009, when they host Marian University in the semi-final round of the Northern Athletics Conference tournament. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on Vago Field in Aurora, Ill.
