Aurora University women's hockey sophomore goalie Becca Binder has been named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Hockey Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Binder earned the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week honor after putting up an impressive individual effort in the Spartans season-opening shutout of Trine University, 4-0. Binder stopped all 37 shots sent her way, which included 25 attempts while her team was on the penalty kill.
 
Next action for Binder and the Spartan women's hockey team comes on Thursday, November 1 when they host St. Norbert College. Game time is set 7:00 p.m. at BMO Ice Arena in Rockford, Illinois.
