Throughout the 2020-2021 year, the Aurora University athletic department will highlight the senior student-athletes. The seniors will provide some insight to their time at AU while getting to know them as individuals they have grown into in their time as a Spartan.
 
Senior Spotlight: Elizabeth Branigan (Women's Track and field)
Major: Health science                 
Minor(s): Psychology and chemistry
What are your plans after graduation? Dental school.
What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? Freshmen year when they brought a camel to campus.
What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? The first time I broke the school record.
Other than the sport(s) you play; what other sports activity are you good at? Flag football and volleyball.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? Reading and painting.
What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria? Thanksgiving dinner.
What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? All the coaches involved with track, they believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and have helped me become a better person.
What do you enjoy most and least about practice? I enjoy the atmosphere and the energy the teams brings every day and I'm definitely not going to miss 6am practice.
Do you have any pregame rituals? I don't have any pregame rituals but I used to.
What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? To enjoy the small things because they'll be gone before you know it.
If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? California girls by The Beach Boys because every time I listen to that song it makes me think of my family and all of our fun times at the beach.
What is something that people may not know about you but should? That I love to sing but am too afraid to do it in front of people.
If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why? I would choose Johnny Depp, Oliver and James Phelps, and Emma Watson because they all made my childhood a little bit better.
