Aurora University Athletics

Throughout the 2020-2021 year, the Aurora University athletic department will highlight the senior student-athletes. The seniors will provide some insight to their time at AU while getting to know them as individuals they have grown into in their time as a Spartan.
 
Senior Spotlight: Kaylee Underwood (Softball)
Major: Exercise Science        Minor: Coaching
What are your plans after graduation? After graduation I plan to get my Masters of Exercise Science at Aurora University. Following that I then hope to apply to multiple Physical Therapy schools around the country.
What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? My most memorable academic experience would have to be my senior internship with the Strength and Conditioning Program at Aurora University. Due to Covid-19 we were forced to run workouts in an unconventional way, but I feel like that made it more of a learning experience for me.
What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? My most memorable athletic moment at Aurora University has to be all the memories that we're made with teammates on and off the field.
Other than the sport(s) you play; what other sports activity are you good at? Other than softball I am good at weightlifting.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? My favorite hobby is to cook, bake, or paint.
What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria? My favorite meal from the cafeteria has to be breakfast.
What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? Chad Trudo had the greatest impact on me during my time at Aurora University. I not only was an athlete of Chad's, but I also was one of his interns, students, and workers. Chad has taught me a lot about the Strength and Conditioning field and even some great life lessons that I will never forget.
What do you enjoy most and least about practice? The thing I enjoy most about practices would have to be taking fly balls, and my least favorite thing about practice would be how early they are in the morning.
Do you have any pregame rituals? I do not have any pregame rituals.
What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? I would advise an underclassmen to make the best of their four years, work hard and give it their all because before you know it it will be over.
If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? If I had to listen to one song on repeat forever it would be, Doing Life With Me, By Eric Church. I would chose this song because it makes me think of my family and friends who are "doing life with me".
What is something that people may not know about you but should? One thing that people may not know about me is that I have a really big family.
If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why? If I could spend an hour with three people I would chose...
Boyd Epley: I would want to meet Boyd Epley because he was the first professional/paid Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Andrea Hayden: I would want to meet Andrea Hayden because she is the first female Strength and Conditioning coach in the MLB.
Michael Jordan: I would want to meet Michael Jordan because he had an attitude and work mentality like no other athlete.
