Aurora University baseball infielder Justin Sartori was recognized for his efforts in the classroom and on the diamond today when the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the members of the 2022 Baseball Academic All-America teams.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® honor is chosen based off the student-athletes combined prowess on the field and in the classroom is the latest achievement. Sartori becomes the 40th Spartan student-athlete and ninth from the AU softball program to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-America.

Sartori, currently in the AU master's of business administration and was a finance and business administration double major as an undergrad has received a plethora of honors following his 2022 season. With the CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-America honor, he now has the distinction of being both an Academic and Athletic All-American. He had also been named a Second-Team All-American by ABCA/Rawlings, D3baseball.com and was previously named the D3baseball.com Region 8 Position Player of the Year and First-Team All-Region honors from the ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com. These honors followed his being named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Position Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference.

He finished the 2022 campaign with a .375 batting average, 12 home runs, two triples, 18 doubles, 59 runs scored and a new AU single season record 70 runs batted in while also finishing with a .677 slugging, .461 on-base and .997 fielding percentage.

The Spartans finished the 2022 season with a 36-11 overall record and made the 24th appearance overall and fourth consecutive NCAA Division III Regional appearance. The Spartans earned their place in the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships after winning the 2021 Northern Athletics Conference Conference (NACC) regular season.

The Academic All-America teams are selected by CoSIDA member sports information directors based on the student-athletes' academic prowess while being a steady influence on their respective athletic field. To be considered for the honor, the nominated student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average throughout their academic career at AU.
