Aurora University junior defensive back Ben Slatcoff was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Defensive Players of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals.

Slatcoff helped the Spartans to a 49-16 home opening victory over Franklon College. In the winning effort, Slatcoff had four tackles with an interception which came on the first play of the seond quarter. He stepped in front of a Grizzlie pass and returned in 24 yards for the pick six.

Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, September 17 when they travel to Concordia University Chicago. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 p.m. in River Forest, Illinois.
