Aurora University senior outside hitter Sydnei Avery was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals.

Avery earned the award after she was named to the Illinois Wesleyan All-Tournament Team while leading AU to a 2-2 mark last week that included losses to No. 6 Washington-St. Louis and No. 15 UW-Whitewater. She totaled 59 kills on 134 attempts, averaging 4.21 per set while hitting .321 overall. Avery added 13 digs - six alone against UW-Whitewater - and four service aces.

On the season, Avery leads the AU offense with 4.08 kills, 0.98 digs and 0.20 aces per set.
