Aurora University junior Deedee Colon Maldonado was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Colon Maldonado won the Aurora Cross Country Classic with a time of 22:38.20 while helping Aurora to a runner-up team finish. She was the top individual out of 74 runners and averaged 6:04.3 per mile over the 6-kilometer track. Colon Maldonado's time is the fastest regular-season time posted on the Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course.

Next action for the Spartan women's cross country team comes on Saturday, September 16 at St. James Farm Forest Preserve for the Gil Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton College.
