Aurora University football defensive back Andrew Nordland was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals.

Nordland earned the honor after he led the AU defense as the Spartans shutout Rockford, 69-0. Nordland had a team-high seven tackles - including one tackle-for-loss, and two interceptions.

On the season, Nordland leads the Spartan defense in tackles with  62 tackles and has a team-leading four interceptions. 40 of his 62 tackles have been solo while four have been tackles for loss for the (6-1 overall and 5-0 NACC) Spartans.

Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, October 26 when they travel to Lakeland University. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Plymouth, Wisconsin.
